Foodathon started at 8am yesterday.I woke up very early despite I only had 3 hours of sleep finishing my economics homework.
I still have composite functions graphs!
Put those a side for a day.I have to enjoy the foodathon today!
Breakfast, we had a very common Sandakan breakfast.
The famous pei tan gao ( dumplings with preserved egg fillings) in Sim Sim.
Either you'll have kon lou mee or mee with soup. This is why Sandakan people are fat. They consume 3 meals with heavy carb intake!
Fine minced pork and fresh prawn with a generous slice of preserved egg wrapped with a thin golden wantan skin .
Wo Tiek (Fried dumplings)
Pocket of goodness from minced pork , vege and spices fried to golden perfection!
Apasal serious sangat?
Well, best served with ginger sauce.
Char kuey with Kaya and planta.
Best char kuey in Sandakan can be found in Mile 4 market!
I don't think you can find this anywhere in Peninsular Malaysia.
They named it "Cow Shit"
It is sweet and very sweet la!
Wu Gok , yam with char siew fillings.
Super nice! Taste like heaven when it's hot!
Laksa with lou dun fish
I don't know the specific name of Lou Dun. But I know the fish has a bigger size than my body.
The meat is very expensive and rare!
It taste like fish. The meat is slightly tender and when you bite em.It feels like you are biting prawn. The skin of the fish is like chewing gum and its very hard to swallow.
Beware!
Once you put into your mouth, you can feel a very strong impulsive effect when you bite em and encounter a tingling sensation!
Lou Dun served with preserved vegetables
And lastly for supper
A bowl of Kon Lou mee!
Fishballs, yee fuu, char kuey, wanton, zha yuk (fried pork),fish cake and prawn balls
All in one bowl.
More to come!
